This weeeeeeeeeeeeeeek

So how was your weekend?

I'm still in the process of editing the video because I'm a lazy bugger like that. And I procrastinate. Which is always bad but we all do it anyway.

So what distracted me over the week? A few things such as video games.

So I came across 2 games from Japan that was ported over to steam. They're both by the same developers and are both ported to steam. Its called "Chantelise- A tale of two sisters" and "Recettear: An Item shop's tale".

I haven't tried out Recettear yet but it is essentially a simulation of an item shop in a dungeon crawling game. It looks really fun, but I haven't had the time to actually buy the game though. Its on steam for USD$20, so its relatively cheap for a video game.

Chantelise is an older game (Its from 2006. I know right!?) which means it has less graphics. But the gameplay is a dungeon crawling type so RPG fans might like this. Also, the game was made for console controllers so it might feel clunky on the keyboard.

So yeah, some games I played over the weekend. You can try them out or go watch some Lets Plays on Youtube instead.

Speaking of Youtube, I've came across a Youtuber by the name of Rosanna Pansino who has a segment called Nerdy Nummies, where makes these really awesome looking, nerdy treats from scratch and shows the process in a 5-10 minute video.

So far, her track record has been things Diablo 3, TF2, Portal, Settlers of Catan (SHE MADE A BOARD GAME GAMEBOARD WITH CUPCAKES. OH LORD THE NERDGASM) and a lot more stuff. So check out her channel here for some nerdy good food while I go over and stare at her for being a hot nerd lady.

Now, on to some interesting news: A girl was recently hospitalised over some breathing problems and anaemia. The interesting part is that this girl got these problems because SHE HAS BEEN EATING NOTHING BUT CHICKEN McNUGGETS SINCE SHE WAS TWO YEARS OLD. TWO. FUCKING. YEARS. OLD.

Ever since she was a toddler, miss Stacey Irvine has eaten little else but chicken nuggets and the occasional portion of chips (which in Britain means French Fries).

After the hospitalisation, Doctors have urged her to change her ridiculous diet before her condition gets any worse. Now, those that are still sane and equipped with their common senses, please follow these steps.

 Step 1: Facepalm. Really hard.

Step 2: Make this face

Really, doc? It seems obvious this girl needs to change her OBVIOUSLY UNHEALTHY DIET THAT SHE HAS HAD SINCE SHE WAS 2?

Now, I think you guys are expecting her to be fat. Well, she's not. Her body does not look like they have been tanking McNuggets for 15 years.

Here's a picture of her from the article:

She looks like a perfectly healthy teenager, working hard and eating right, doesn't she?

As my Gran said, "Don't judge a bitch by her looks." Or, that's what she would have said if she understood and spoke English. She was a potty mouth in the Hokkien language.

But I digress. Talking about my family makes me feel weird. Or reminds me that I am weird.

But in actual fact, she looks reeeaaaally unhealthy.

She looks like she hasn't slept in days and her face looks like blood avoids it all together. In other words, she looks a lot like a Twilight vampire.

Hey, maybe that's the secret of the Cullens. They eat nothing but McNuggets. Maybe they paint their faces with coke so the sparkle on them are actually sugar that crystallised.

Or they're Macdonald's indirect approach to advertising. So many possibilities out there.

So yeah, some interesting news for you on a Monday night. I was going to finish this blog in the afternoon, but I didn't have to spare time to.

Or, I spent my spare time catching up with Kamen Rider. The movie subs were out, DON'T JUDGE ME.

Excuse me while I find some time to cry about my life and all.

Cheers!

What a busy day I'll be having

So, if you guys didn't know, it was cosfest XI last weekend.

I recall a certain promise that I said I'll be making a video for the previous cosfest, cosfest X2, which I didn't do.

Well, I'm sorry but.............

Image from http://funny-pictures-blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Bitch-Please_12.jpg

I couldn't be bothered to do it. You may now throw stones and sticks at me. Just know that they can't break my bones. /badpun

But really now, who would want to watch videos I make anyway?

I just watched them this afternoon and it gave me motion sickness after watching them for 45 mins.

I really need a videography crash course.

But hey, I'm going to do it anyway. Because I like giving people headaches.

Anyway, I went on both days, with different people on each day, and enjoyed myself. There were a few kinks (STUPID iPHONE HAVING SO LITTLE MEMORY and OMG WESLEY WHY DIDN'T YOU DROP YOUR VIDEOS IN YOUR LAPPY BEFORE GOING ON DAY 2) but I guess it was a good weekend.

Only thing that made me go "meh" was that I spent a total of $8 on transport fares though. =\

But oh well, money worth spending.

So this year, cosplays were awesome (OMG AHRIIIIIIIII) and stage plays were decently made (Competition amped up cuz Japan was invited this year). Overall a good day.

Got a nice badge this year as well. I'll get a shot of it later when I have the time.

But that's really it for cosfest. Everything I want to say is really in the video. Which might or might not ever come.

"You lazy bastard" I say to myself as I give myself a slap

Anyway, its Monday and I guess you're probably bored if you're reading this.

So here's some interesting things to amuse yourself with:

There's a new twitter trend: #Singaporeshadesofgrey. Its basically a parody trend for the mommy-porn book inspired by Twilight known as "50 Shades of Grey".

Long story short? Its a erotica made for mothers who's husbands either never have any sex with them or little girls who have probably never had sex before/watched porn before.

Short story long? Give me an hour when I'm bored.

Main point? The tweets spawned from the book are laughable. All those innuendos remind me of my sec 4 days of being bored while everyone else around me was working really hard.

Most notable cause of brain cancer in teens/youths

So, someone in the world declared it to be "No Bra Day" in which all girls conveniently "forget" to put on upper body underwear and leave home without it.

To which my inner pervert says "Good on you, Women-who-don't-give-two-shits-on-being-shy-or-called-sluts!"

But in my honesty, its good in a non-pervy way because its really easy to tell who among you are incredibly spontaneous and brave enough to try this. Or who's slutty enough not to care about bras. I'm torn between whether this is a good thing or bad thing.

If anyone did this, you would just automatically win one internetz. Good for you! Unless you have a penis.

You know, men should have a "Wear a Bra Day". It would be incredibly amusing to see men having pads on their chests.

Or maybe it'd be for the men who actually need them.

And here's my secret stash of porn. No, I'm just kidding. Put down the phone.

So attempted humour is great and all, but at the end of the day its just another regular day with homework and projects to finish. So after you're done with reading my mundane blog, remember to go back to do your homework before you fail O' levels or lose GPA for slacking too much.

Anyway, cheers!

P.S. I might begin to start streaming my League games in the future. I'll give it a try to see how it goes after I finish with homework, club admin stuff and cosfest video editing. Look forward to it.

City Harvest Church, I don't know whether to pity you guys or hate on you guys. (OMG UPDATED YO)

Sadly, I do know people from that church. So far I haven't tried to ask them about this for fear of hurting them or stuff (I am aware that they're all reinforcing their faith by having the CHC unite tweets/texts though).

So anyway, I was inspired by this post/letter to type something that's TOTALLY unrelated to the CHC laundering and that's Satire.

Satire is the form of comedy. But unlike typical comedy, its not light hearted. Its downright insulting, which is good because the purpose of Satire is to shame and ridicule society into improvement.

Essentially, you mock someone about their masturbating habits until they stop doing it.

Sorry for that shoddy description, but it was all my brain could come up with. And not that masturbation is bad anyway. (Fun fact: Masturbation reduces chances of prostate cancer and cervical infections. Google is so useful.)

Don't mistake me, I call it comedy but Satire has every intention to ridicule and shame. Its the evil form of Sarcasm, if you want it to. There is no taking it back by saying "Oh, I didn't meant it like that." after having a satirical performance.

Personally, I find it funny when people do this. Satire can be a form of teasing when done right, where no offence was even meant. However, when people misinterpret Satire, it totally flips the board and its now something that is "offensive".

So that post that I've posted above, if you read the comments below, you'll realise in that there are a few comments which depict that they didn't understand the article's satire goodness.

So to justify this article, satire is only a form of comedy. It was made with the intention to shame and insult. Why? Because we can.

Be prepared to face the consequences the moment decide to steal anything at all.

And that's all I've really wanted to say. I really am unsure how to write more about this other than saying "What's new?".

People have been always been giving money to the higher ups of their churches. Its just what these people are doing with the money that makes me uneasy, although I know there are people who track the expenditure of the funds.

Absolute trust is apathy. Just fully putting all your trust into something means either 2 things: You either really don't care about the thing, issues with it just irks you and you want to get them over or done with OR you like getting scammed.

Religion has always been a grey area in my life. I don't believe in God but I do believe some form of higher entity is present and makes mistakes just like all human beings.

Just think of him as Chuck Norris.

Cheers.

EDIT: Removed a sentence I thought I removed and added abit more about my perception of churches.

Absence is not bliss. Neither are traffic accidents

Hey

So, before I start my post, I would just like to apologise for me being missing for a long time. I've been trying to fix up some of my grades by taking some time to read a few of my notes. I hope I haven't caused anyone some lack of knowledge for 2 weeks.

But seriously, I do apologise for not updating this blog in awhile. I'm back to start posting a few things now.

So to catch up on recent times, Diablo 3 just came out today. And from my gaming resources, the Koreans have set the bar for finishing the game first 10 hours ago. 4 hours before Singaporean servers even went online. All that hype.

Obama just "came out" and said "I think that gay couples should be allowed to be married.". This is a really big move on his part as he may lose voters who are anti-gay marriage and gain some who are pro-gay marriage. Could go either way considering how Wall Street stopped funding him though. Meh

But today, I would like to address something that I've managed to miss until a day or two ago.

In the middle of a Saturday night, a Ferrari had crashed into a taxi after running a red light. The accident eventually included a motorcycle, injured about three people and killed two people when the accident happened.

Driver of the Ferrari was a man named Mr Ma Chi, who was driving under the influences of alcohol, while the Taxi driver, 52-year-old Mr Cheng Teck Hock, was a middle income father  of 3 who, according to twitter sources, did not have insurance and was the sole breadwinner of his family. The cabbie was also carrying a 20-year-old Japanese lady. Recently, she was identified as Ms Shigemi Ito. The Ferrari was also carrying a passenger who seemed to have survived the crash.

The entire incident was also shot by someone who posted it as a youtube video.

Alright, before I continue, I would just like to be angry at the person who made the video. How could you say something like "Lucky" at a crash like that? If I were to be driving and see a crash at that speed, I would stop and help rather than continue to drive on.

In their defence, I would like to point out should the Ferrari drive any slower, the videographer would have died and that would make his "Lucky" comment understandable. But still, it kind of annoys me.

Anyway, following the story, there have been many rants and rages from netizens about different reactions from Singaporean media. Some point out that local tabloids glorify the Ferrari driver by making him the victim rather than the perpetrator. (This move disappoints me, local tabloids which I shall not name. Then again, you've already disappointed me anyway) Some witnessed the taxi passenger, Ms Shigemi Ito, being mugged as she was dying. Some claim that Ma Chi was a money launderer who helped his brother launder dirty money.

By the way, the local tabloids really have disappointed me. -AHEMSPHAHEM-

All jokes aside, the junction of Rochor Road and Victoria Street, which the incident had occurred in, has a history of car crashes.

The Ferrari driver died on the spot while the taxi driver sustained head injuries and was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) along with the Ferrari passenger, who suffered the same injuries, and the motorcyclist (God forgive me, I can't find his name anywhere) who suffered spinal injuries.

The taxi passenger, Ms Ito, however, was unconscious and was brought to Singapore General Hospital (SGH). Sadly there was no silver lining as she died soon after.

According to SPH's article on this, Mr Ma first came to Singapore four years ago with his wife and child.

Friends said he was a hard-working and righteous person who worked as a financial investor. He was also applying for permanent residency in Singapore.

And also, according to his wife, he likes to drive home late because there is less traffic then. (Which is true. But does not fucking justify your reasons of running a fucking red light, bloody idiot.)

So right, I think this is pretty much on the information part. Now here's a little picture of green scenery in hopes that you'll be able to digest the above info better and keep yourself from punching the nearest PRC member.

So much better, don't you think? Calms your mind. (Quite frankly I pulled this off google images under the search "Green Scenery". I hope I don't get sued.)

Now let us move on to the next part of this post, shall we?

"Reasons why people cause stirs"

So people on twitter are saying how petty we (as Singaporeans) are on this whole situation.

Let's take some time off this moment to think. The Ferrari driver, who was driving under the influence of alcohol, crashed his car into a taxi, whose driver doesn't earn half as much money as the dude with the Ferrari along with a passenger who was just going home from some event. A motorcyclist was hit. (Just before any shitstorms are started from this, wealth doesn't affect my judgement at all.)

Now, lets take out the facts which pissed me off.

The Ferrari driver was a PRC. He was the one who ran the red light. As seen in the youtube video above. That man had driven under the influence of alcohol. Yet our media flourishes the PRC member as the victim. They've also reported this man to be a " a hard-working and righteous person who worked as a financial investor who was also applying for permanent residency in Singapore." (From an SPH article. No date was given. However, judging from the facts of 3 deaths and 2 injuries, it must be recent. Also, there were several Chinese newspapers who said similar things)

Why are you glorifying a man who CAUSED THE DAMNED INCIDENT? You run a fucking newpaper. Your job is to deliver accurate news and not fuck up on it. People look to you for information and you twist facts that cause the entire situation to be horribly misinterpreted. The reason why I'm even angry is because this mistake gets people hating the wrong people. And not everyone depends on the internet for information.

Away from the media and into the PRC situation we have.

Somewhere on the internet, a netizen named Martin (in Real Life) defended the PRC as reported by this article, saying how "you shouldn't suka suka accelerate also! WHAT IF GOT ONCOMING TURNING VEHICLES, DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN ONLY NIA…"

Dear Mr Martin, as you can see from the video I put up above that the accident happened on the rightmost lane. If you actually drive a car, you should know that (a) turning vehicles slow down during turns and don't ram the accelerator to make a turn (that is not turning, that is how initial D drivers drift their cars) (b) turning vehicles make turns to the nearest lane, not the one where the taxi driver was on before he got hit (c) showing us our own driving manual does not make you any smarter. It just shows how much of a douche you are and how wrongly you can interpret information

These comment eventually started the current war between PRCs and SGreans.

Maybe the fact that the PRC's family members were absolutely not APOLOGETIC about how their member caused the deaths of 2 people and a SPINAL INJURY of a motorcyclist had a hand as well?

Dear Mrs Ma,

Yeah, your husband died. I'm pretty sure you're all grieving and crying over his death. Its understandable. However, your husband had a stable income. The cabbie your husband killed has a family that now has monetary issues. A sorry would have been nice.

"And to ending this"

This is probably me being sleepy and grumpy, but for causing 2 deaths and a spinal injury of an innocent bystander, I think this man really deserved his outcome.

Also, this whole post seemed rushed and unhealthily long to me. Sorry folks, but you'll have to heck it. I'm really tired from my recent work.

So, although it's been an unhealthily lengthy and saddening post, but here's hoping your day brightens up.

Cheers

Movies: Labour Day plans: The Avengers

Whoever who said The Avengers' storyline was terrible should be shot.

So, on Labour Day, me and some friends tried our lucks to watch The Avengers at Plaza Sing.

I know, right? Trying to watch a movie when its just released in one of Singapore's most popular shopping mall sounds impossible. But we got the tickets.

It was a 9:xx pm show and we didn't really take long to get them. Although they were front row seat and we got the tickets at around 7pm.

But in any case, the movie delivered what its hype was after. A good comic book story with well-controlled amounts of humour, action, drama and suspense. At no point of the movie did I feel that there was too much drama or too much suspense.

Robert Downy Jr and Chris Evan portrayed the relationship between Captain America and Iron Man very well. They question each other's beliefs, have totally opposite personalities but respect each other's strengths very much.

Although Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner played their roles well too, portraying the relationship of Black Widow and Hawkeye equally well. BW just wants to save a friend while Hawkeye just wants to kick Loki's ass

Animation done with the Hulk was incredible & believable. I didn't need 3D to see how realistic he was. Not that 3D makes anything realistic though.

Mark Ruffalow fit his role as Bruce Banner very well. Bruce Banner is a scientist who has stress issues, not a hot guy who's only issue what his mirror tells him every morning. Also, his acting was amazing;he shows how Banner controls his own anger my making himself calm. People may think that he was monotonous though.

Overall, I definitely recommend it. I'd give it about 8/10 with some issues of duration (The early story taking too much time and final battle being slightly short but still good) and a small plot hole I found.

The story is separate from previous movies (Ironman1&2, Thor, Capt A) but it pays homage to them. You don't need to catch all the other movies to understand the plot.

Of course, its always good to hear a second opinion from others. So feel free to leave your opinion behind.

Cheers.

Gaming: League's Hecarim is bullshit

Seriously, Hecarim is bullshit.

Its like a waste of 6.3k ip.

His base stats are like Skarner nerfed. But Skarner has more damage than him at any point of the game.

His passive is bullshit. 25% BONUS movespeed?

Typically movespeeds reach 475 with one PD and one level 2 shoes.

His base movespeed is 320. That's 155 bonus movespeed.

Which amounts to about 40 damage? Which added to his base 53 + 3/level is still bullshit.

His Q is bullshit, it drains his already small mana pool by so much.

His W is give him sustain, which is useless since he has no dps. Even if others were to do dps for him to heal, the range is so short its only good if they hit the tank. WHICH IS INCREDIBLY BULLSHIT.

His E is his only ganking ability. WHICH IS BULLSHIT IF USED INCORRECTLY.

His R is his only hard CC. WHICH IS BULLSHIT SINCE IT LASTS 1 SECOND.

Essentially, I hate Hecarim.

Opinions in comment box. TELL ME HOW MUCH YOU HATE HIM OR LOVE HIM.

News Flash; News in a flash: Part 3

Alright, after reading about girls who cannot appreciate themselves, let us end this row of posts with a post about my teacher and a little something he's doing.

NUMBER 3: FundRaiser

I'll assume advertising for my teacher is fine, right?

So, Kent Ridge Sec's Discipline Head is known to be pretty crazy. He's a PE teacher who's pretty funny when he's nice and strict when he needs to be. Social to us students and his fellow teachers alike, you'll probably not believe us if you were to come to school for the first time and not be introduced to him.

Now, in my history of being a student there, the craziest thing he has done is to do our 2.4km run.

Doesn't sound impressive enough? What if I say he did it 37 times? In one shot? Started during 8pm? For the mathematically inept, that's 88km. Just to mention.

The reason why he did it was for the Beijing Olympics, which kind of impressed me. His love for sports was really strong and kudos to him for being sticking with it.

I'm sceptical about the run being effective in making students more interested in the Olympics that year though. Still, kudos for running 88km

So when I read on facebook that he had something new, I shared it immediately, then read what it was about.

It was a little fund raiser for the Singapore Disability Sports Council. And his plan was to go for the Gobi Desert Run.

There's nothing wrong with it, either ethically and socially. Its just a trek through the 40*C sparsely populated deserts with more or less a chunk of cacti here and there. The run also allows people (in fact, they encourage it) to run for charity.

So my DM, being the triathelete he is, decides that to keep himself in shape, he'll do the Gobi Desert Run as a fundraiser.

Always impressing us by doing things we can only dream of doing. Going beyond frontiers. Our school motto will kill him one day.

Ok, figure of speech there. Not literally.

The run is 250km long that spans acress 7 days and its participants range internationally. People around the globe take part in this.

You're probably being bored by too many facts now, so I'll just go to the main point now.

Main point: Donate to his fundraiser. If you want to support him. Just head over here and have a little read about the donations and here for his running blog.

And for more information about the run itself, head over to its FAQs

Alright, its 3 am in the morning. Time to head to bed.
