Gaming: League's Hecarim is bullshit

Seriously, Hecarim is bullshit.

Its like a waste of 6.3k ip.

His base stats are like Skarner nerfed. But Skarner has more damage than him at any point of the game.

His passive is bullshit. 25% BONUS movespeed?

Typically movespeeds reach 475 with one PD and one level 2 shoes.

His base movespeed is 320. That's 155 bonus movespeed.

Which amounts to about 40 damage? Which added to his base 53 + 3/level is still bullshit.

His Q is bullshit, it drains his already small mana pool by so much.

His W is give him sustain, which is useless since he has no dps. Even if others were to do dps for him to heal, the range is so short its only good if they hit the tank. WHICH IS INCREDIBLY BULLSHIT.

His E is his only ganking ability. WHICH IS BULLSHIT IF USED INCORRECTLY.

His R is his only hard CC. WHICH IS BULLSHIT SINCE IT LASTS 1 SECOND.

Essentially, I hate Hecarim.

Opinions in comment box. TELL ME HOW MUCH YOU HATE HIM OR LOVE HIM.

News Flash; News in a flash: Part 3

Alright, after reading about girls who cannot appreciate themselves, let us end this row of posts with a post about my teacher and a little something he's doing.

NUMBER 3: FundRaiser

I'll assume advertising for my teacher is fine, right?

So, Kent Ridge Sec's Discipline Head is known to be pretty crazy. He's a PE teacher who's pretty funny when he's nice and strict when he needs to be. Social to us students and his fellow teachers alike, you'll probably not believe us if you were to come to school for the first time and not be introduced to him.

Now, in my history of being a student there, the craziest thing he has done is to do our 2.4km run.

Doesn't sound impressive enough? What if I say he did it 37 times? In one shot? Started during 8pm? For the mathematically inept, that's 88km. Just to mention.

The reason why he did it was for the Beijing Olympics, which kind of impressed me. His love for sports was really strong and kudos to him for being sticking with it.

I'm sceptical about the run being effective in making students more interested in the Olympics that year though. Still, kudos for running 88km

So when I read on facebook that he had something new, I shared it immediately, then read what it was about.

It was a little fund raiser for the Singapore Disability Sports Council. And his plan was to go for the Gobi Desert Run.

There's nothing wrong with it, either ethically and socially. Its just a trek through the 40*C sparsely populated deserts with more or less a chunk of cacti here and there. The run also allows people (in fact, they encourage it) to run for charity.

So my DM, being the triathelete he is, decides that to keep himself in shape, he'll do the Gobi Desert Run as a fundraiser.

Always impressing us by doing things we can only dream of doing. Going beyond frontiers. Our school motto will kill him one day.

Ok, figure of speech there. Not literally.

The run is 250km long that spans acress 7 days and its participants range internationally. People around the globe take part in this.

You're probably being bored by too many facts now, so I'll just go to the main point now.

Main point: Donate to his fundraiser. If you want to support him. Just head over here and have a little read about the donations and here for his running blog.

And for more information about the run itself, head over to its FAQs

Alright, its 3 am in the morning. Time to head to bed.

News Flash;News in a flash: Part 2

Alright, doing it in segments make me feel like people actually read my blog.

-Self-esteem self-destructs-

So, here's the next little thing which caught my interest.

NUMBER 2: The underage prostitute

If you actually watch the news, you might have heard of a 19-year-old named Steph Thia (a.k.a Chantelle). She looks like this:

Picture: http://latestcnn.com/2012/04/steph-thia-hwee-koon-pictures/

Why the big fuss?

A little general knowledge about Singapore's law: We're allowed to have sex at age 16 (with consent from both parties), allowed to be have commercial sex/be prostitutes at age 18 and watch movies with sex scenes at age 21. Go figure.

Still, no reason for a big fuss when she's 19 already, one might point out

She's 19 this year. That makes her 18 last year and 17 during 2010.

See the point?

Although, that's not the only reason the media is making such a huge attack at her situation.

Its the people she's hired by.

Currently, the only list I have is from Alvinology.com, who has made a very updated list of customers this young lady has served.

If you were to head to that list, you'd realise that a there are a few big names on it.

For example, Mr Lee Lip Hong, a high-civil servant who used to be Pei Chun Public School's principal, a goldmine for the media.

Then you have the grandson of Runme Shaw, the one who made Shaw Organisation and Shaw theatres, Howard Shaw, Executive director of Singapore Environment Council. Another goldmine.

Tan Wee Kiat (formerly known as Jarrod Song Eu Loong), 39, ex-head of strategic planning at Police Training Command.

How is this any relation to you, the one sitting behind a computer and reading this, you ask?

The trend here is that these people are head of different markets and sectors who chose to spend money and time having sex with an underage girl without considering the consequences before doing so. Which is, as stated before, illegal.

Why so much emphasis? To the public and the law, its more of the fact that they had sex with an underage prostitute which gets to them. Personally, its a reminder that everyone has dirty laundry that they obviously don't hang for others to see. Even people who come out on top in the game of life.

What does get to me is the fact that these people had the brains and thinking intelligence to reach where they are now only to have it crumble away just because they didn't think to ask a question: "How old are you?".

Kind of gives you hope, though.

A little opinion to the young lady who has sold herself, and to the many others willing do this to themselves, please stop being so stupid. Be a girl you want your daughters to be, and a girl you want your son to date.

Ok, so on to the next story. Since this news is a week old after doing this.

By the way, should this post go missing, its most likely because I deleted it. I got the list from Alvinology's site and left a comment saying if he requests I take this post down because of the list, then I will do it.

New Flash;News in a flash: Part1

Not the punniest of puns for a title, but it'll do.

So, right now I have so much news stories to share but not enough time. What do I do?

Story 1: Thinspo
Somewhere floating around the internets are a few pictures of girls.

Typical.

Somewhere floating around the internets are a few pictures of girls who are incredibly skinny.

Ok, that's still kind of typical.

Somewhere floating around the internets (places such as Instagram, Pinterest and tumblr) are a pictures of girls who are incredibly skinny that are used as inspiration for girls to become ridiculously, and insanely, thin. To the point of Anorexia.

No, seriously, some even have quotes on it.

Here are some examples (You can just skip the red part below, its pretty wordy for a "summarised post")

Seriously, question to guys, would you like your girlfriend to have a body like this?

I don't see why weight loss is such a huge deal among people who don't need it. You have 16-year-old girls who are attempting to lose weight because they think they're "fat" and "ugly" when they're pretty much in the right weight class.

The thing about anorexia is that you're starving your body of the nutrients it needs to rid yourself of the fats your body is storing.

Remember, your body isn't made up of 100% fats. You need 3 main types of nutrition survive, Carbohydrates, Protein and Fats. Fats is needed to protect yourself from the cold and have flesh to protect your bones from impact. (In its defence, you don't need a lot of it. But I digress)

The other 2 nutrients? Protein is needed to repair your body and develop muscles to move with and Carbs give you the energy required to move your body.

What Anorexia does to your body is simple. By depriving your body of nutrients, your body is unable to sustain itself. This makes you tire easily (due to lack of Carbs), weakens muscles, stunts development (lack of protein) and lose body mass in general (You can't control where you lose fat, in some areas of your body you NEED the fat).

For more symptoms, check out Wikipedia's article of STARVATION along with Anorexia. You'll be getting it by the truckloads.

Thing is, people have different opinions of a average weight. Sadly, mass media changes the public's view on attractiveness. This encourages girls to attempt to reach a point of weight that's crazy and unhealthy.

Personally, I think Anorexia is just ridiculous. Being paper thin doesn't make you attractive at all. It just makes you look like a really unpopular model. Maybe some guys go for that kind of thing but generally, I think people like their women with NORMAL body sizes. In fact, I'd like to date someone who's not paper thin and feels good about herself because frankly, if I were to mince my words in order not to make you feel guilty about what you ate last night, I'd feel terrible.

And also, I won't even mince my words in the first place. I'm too blunt to do that.

End point: Don't be anorexic. Eat like a normal human being.

So what do you guys think about general Body Mass? Do leave a comment below.

I'll be attempting to put in a Anon comment box somewhere here soon. I've been getting nearly 0 comments ever since I've started posting but a number of pageviews, so I'm assuming people who read my blog don't have a blogger account.

5-minute-later EDIT: I made a slight mistake, Thinspo is for people who're severely overweight (and have their own little problems such as heart attacks, diabetes, etc. to worry about) and trying to find inspiration get themselves into a healthy weight range. The term we're fighting here is Pro-ana (no idea what it means) which can be found here

This, my friends, is what I find disgusting, not posting pictures of girls being too thin, but encouraging others to be unhealthy and lead unhealthy lifestyles. Its like the reverse of fast food. I'll do a full post on this once I get more info. And also, to prove that I don't edit my posts un-necessarily, I won't change anything from the post.

Thanks to the lady from this site for this little tidbit about pro-ana and thinspo. And the 2 pictures of thinspo.

Bored at home during first month in school?

Note to self: You really need to find a blogskin.

So, its been the second week of school and usually its this time where movie directors decide to make everyone a little more miserable by releasing movies around this time. However, from a select few opening soon, there's only a few which I really want to watch.

-cue epic drum roll-

ITS HoC'S LIST OF MOVIES TO CATCH BEFORE FIRST SEMESTER TESTS!!!!!!!

-cue applause-

I should be a director in the future. I have a knack at making epic ideas that please visually.

NUMBER 1:

You shall not pass!

So is there ANYONE who's not looking forward to this?

I mean, nerds and geeks will make this their must-watch (unless you're a DC fan) or people who've watched Thor, Iron Man, Hulk and Captain America: The first Avenger will definitely watch this "sequel". Everyone else will just get absorbed into the series by the fact that every single actor is hot in it. Before you tell me that there's only 1 lady in the team, remember how every engineering class in Poly is the same. Except its a team of 20.

Like all other excessively advertised films, this is probably going to come out as either one of the best movies made from comic books of all time or its going to be a box office flop (Or just breaking even with production costs) and leave many people disheartened. High hopes for Joss Wheden from everyone else.

Fun fact: Joss Whedan created Buffy. And directed this film. You decide.

NUMBER 2:

Remember when you were a kid and your mother, father or teacher told you the story of Snow White?

Or maybe your parents brought you Disney's Snow White in DvD?

Well, I bet they told you the story from Snow White's point of view, didn't they? Well, how about the queen's perspective? Maybe she isn't so insane as the story depicts? Maybe she's really a nice person deep down inside?

Probably not.

And there's that smug little girl, having the whole world think she's so nice and kind and lovable.

If you've not read, watched, heard or even seen Snow White, then I suggest heading over to the children's section of the library or buy the book and weep to yourself the story at home in bed as you remember bits and pieces of your sad childhood, wondering how different life would be if you had a proper upbringing.

But on a more serious note, Julia Roberts plays the queen, the world's most beautiful woman, who's married to the king/assigned to babysit the king's daughter, Snow White. As all maniacal rulers, she decides to try and remove the heir to the throne from the equation and take it for herself. Then it becomes Snow White's story once again, although bits and pieces differ from the original.

Ok, I lied. Its not the typical "Princess gets saved, bad guy (Or in this case, bad queen) gets killed" kind of story, but more of the recent hollywood remakes where "Princess saves world" stories.

Well, not being a big fan of Julia Roberts, I personally won't be watching this unless someone asks me out for this. However, it does seem pretty decent for a comedy film from the trailer so give it a try when you have some extra cash and time on your hands.

Number 3:
Enjoy watching Will Smith's movies? You'll be happy to know that the 3rd MIB is coming out in theatres in May.

I remember watching the trailer for this back in November last year and immediately after I  tracked the date down and marked it in my phone.

Then I proceeded to break my phone by accident. "Accident"

Why I would recommend this is because MIB has been a pretty big childhood thing. The entire theme of a world hidden in a world helped me develop alot of creativity and imagination. Downside to this was that I have some..... "unique" quirks as a child. And as an adult.

But I digress. I would talk more about this movie once I've watched it, but for now it remains as a maybe-in-the-future thing.

Of course, there're a few movies to that are already out but didn't appeal to me which I shall quickly list here

Wrath of the Titans: Clash of the Titans was horrible. My teacher said this movie was horrible. My friends says it was horrible. I now deem this horrible.

Battleships: A movie about a board game where you cheat by stacking your ships on each other? No thanks.

The Lucky One: Zac Effron's in it. Not voicing it. The Lorax is <3 Zac Effron is not.
I don't so much as have a hatred to him, I just personally don't like him. Long story.

The Awakening: I did watch this with a couple of friends, but I thought the movie was on-the-whole overrated. It provided a few scares and a few chills, but nothing too extreme. In fact, the movie rides on only its plot for its recognition by Rotten Tomatoes as a good movie (I think it was Rotten Tomatoes).

That's all for now (even though I only listed a few movies). Tune in next time to...........

Assassin's Creed 3: Game news

Normally I don't visit Kotaku because of their somewhat over-exaggerated sense of gamerism (Especially after EA fucked Mass Effect 3 up so badly that every gamer cries) but when I heard of a Assassin's Creed 3 info that was dropped off the site, I went to google it almost immediately.

The game in a nutshell

Just in case you didn't know, I'm a pretty big fan of the series. I've played the first 2 games, owned Brotherhood for my PS3 (Mah baby <3) but haven't gotten a chance to try out Revelations yet, but refusing to spoil myself with the story (And using every damn thing as a distraction from checking).

First inspection of the new game is pretty obvious. Its set in the American Revolution where people are out killing people (Americans fighting the British, if I didn't interpret my information wrongly) while stealthy people are killing people (Assassins vs Templars). Its snowy in some of the pictures while some show that the snow has melted away and grass is growing beautifully. While people are dying in the background.

After some reading, you'll find that you're playing as Connor, a member of the Mohawk tribe who joins the Assassin's cause for un-revealed storyline reasons.

Developers reveal that the weather actually affects your running speed. When its summer and snow-less, running is fairly easy while in winter, the snow makes Connor trip if you attempt to run too fast. Which amps the game's difficulty should you need to run from a bad situation. What's more, the game actually has rain coded in, along with how normal humans should react when its raining: take shelter. You'll see people scrambling to get out of the rain rather than staying outside and walking as if its a sunny day. This also affects how you should be moving as you play.

Also, in this era where guns require reloads after being shot once (known as muskets; the reloading speed isn't short if you didn't know), this can be a double-edge change for you. Should they miss, the guards will be forced to engage close-quarter combat rather than standing still for 5 minutes trying to reload their guns. Luckily, Connor will be using an arsenal of weapons found in this era such as the Mohawk's Tomahawk Axe, flintlock pistols and bows & arrows as well as assassin's arsenals such as ever-so-popular-and-awesome hidden blades.

Developers have said that for the first time in the series, you are able to climb trees as well as buildings. Previously, you can scale the tallest towers without having proper foothold (or just those that you can't see) yet seem unable to process how to scale off a tree (or just jump off a ledge and swing with a tree. I tried that myself, to be honest. Didn't end so well though). Now they've added the code for it thus you are able to become America's first Tarzan. Another way to avoid getting shot!!!

Being from a Mohawk tribe, Connor has learnt how to hunt animals since he's lived in the forest. The game allows you to hunt for prey as sort of a sidequest (like the feathers from the second generation of AC).

Now for graphics, Ubisoft is using their brand new graphics engine known as AnvilNext. After some research from Wikipedia, its actually an amped up version of the engine used in AC2 generation. They hope that the engine will allow games to have more powerful and better graphics in our current generation of gaming platforms.

The AnvilNext engine claims to allow many characters to appear on screen at once. This allows the game to produce and process warzones smoothly, which you can either join in or avoid like the plague. Depending on how you want to play.

Finally, the last piece of info I have on the game is that developers hate making PC versions of the game. Quoting from my sources: "I think if you want to play on PC, and you want to play Assassin's Creed, you have a controller.".

Are you threatening me?

Of course, pre-orders are already open and depending where you pre-order, you'll get different pre-order-only perks such as an extra uniform and unlocked weapons. Different sites offer different perks, so check them out before pre-ordering!!!

Anyway, this is just some news that I've found. I'll be doing my first impressions of the game once I have more time in an edit of this post, so do check back.

Cheers, for now.

EDIT: Ok, so I'm back to give a little opinion on the upcoming Assassin's Creed game.

First thing I thought of when they told us about AnvilNext was that it sounded so good it felt like it was over-exaggerated. Graphics that run smoothly even when there's alot of things going on felt unheard of and really felt next generation. But many times when game developers and companies promise us a good graphics, the result often disappoints.

I find developers have done their very best to make this game as realistic as they possibly can. From what they're telling us, I feel that they've done a good job out of it. Again, whether they can deliver what they've promised and what we expect from the game depends on the final, released product. Chances are, they probably won't be disappointing us soon.
Although I'm against it, the introduction of hunting animals was something I've never expected developers to do, just because it felt so much like Red Dead Redemption (But according to developers, the numbers are smaller here compared to RDR, because moving accolades aren't fun when they're common).

I would like to see what they've replaced the Prostitutes, Mercenaries and Thieves from the AC2 era with. Perhaps during that time, they'd be called sex-slaves, hired help and pickpockets, since its America we're talking about. They'd be keen on trying not to capture attention from others, I supposed. I guess its what I'll predict.

Because, like, you know, its always good to have, like, backup

Personally though, I'm a big storyline fan so even if the gameplay is really bad, I'd still play it if the story is good. Its similar to my Assassin's Creed Brotherhood game, I've never touched it after I finished the original storyline. I planned on getting all the secret stuff like Subject 17 secrets and feathers, but I didn't bother because I was all "Meh, its only secrets. I'll youtube them or something" when Desmond stabbed Lucy. Spoils all my replay value, I admit.

Finally, I would like to see what weapons they'll include in this game. They've revealed the Tomahawk and the Flintlock Pistols (Which look awesome in real life, in all honesty) but I want to see what they'll allow us to use to dispose of enemies.

Well, that's really it for my game opinion. Glad you've lasted this long without alt-tabbing or closing this window.

Information was taken from Kotaku, The Honest Gamer, Wikipedia and a good friend of mine. Thank you all.

EDIT2: Realised none of my recent blogs has photos. Shall be stealin' from Google once again. Hurr hurr hurr hurr
